At DM Athletics, we are always looking for ways to help our athletes perform at their highest level. Pete Carrol’s Win Forever philosophy is one of the best approaches that an athlete can apply to their daily routine. You may however, need to adjust some of the things to fit what sport you play or if your using it for personal goals.
The whole premise of the philosophy, is working to maximize your potential. There is a foundation and rules to make sure that you focus on what matters and what you can control, along with the attitude you need to perform at your highest level. The central theme is competition–you are either competing or you’re not. The environment (practice) you set is critical, as it is where you build your confidence and trust in your teammates and self. It is then, that you can focus on your performance and have the confidence that you are going to win.
We recommend that you print out the image below and put it somewhere you can see multiple times a day. Pete Carrol has used it to help his team win the Super Bowl–so why not use it to help you achieve your athletic goals?
This will not help you run faster or jump higher, but it will nurture a resilient mentality (we often call it mental toughness) which is paramount for any athlete to perform at their highest level. Always look for ways to improve, and attack.

Sincerely,
Donny Mateaki& the DM Athletics Team
