Consistent Improvement

Consistent Improvement

When working toward a goal of being the very best in any field, it is unrealistic to think that you will obtain this after one day, month or even a year.  There are a few occasions when great success is experienced early–however, to sustain or improve on that success, requires consistent action.

In athletics, it is unheard of to begin a sport one month, only to become a professional the next.  Furthermore, it is illogical to believe that will happen, as it has never before occurred in the history of sports.  While there have been a small handful of athletes who have experienced continued improvement, resulting in a professional status after just a couple of years, the majority take much longer to achieve the same goal.

Every person is born with a different amount of (if any) athleticism.  The assumption that you just need to work hard and put in one thousand or more hours to be a professional is simply untrue.  Realistic goals ought to be set forth for those who are serious about their sport.  Next, a testing period is then helpful to determine whether progress is being made.  This is where consistency comes in.  One of the main indicators as to whether someone will be able to reach their goals, is consistency.  On days when you are not feeling “up to it”, are experiencing a plateau or even a regression–these are the days that are most challenging and will be the most telling.  There is no competition greater than one’s self.

At DM Athletics we take all necessary measures to ensure that our athletes are setting and meeting their goals.  Consistency is our forte.  Call us now and discover your potential!

After having greats workouts with DM Athletics, I had a fantastic track and football season.  Donny had perfect workouts, and he knew what what was best for my body.  He can improve anybody in just one session, with his knowledge.  For the USATF Junior Olympics, I placed 10th in the nation for long jump. Also in football, I started both ways and ended with 15+ touchdowns by the end of the year. In 2013, with less then four weeks until the regional meet and not knowing if I would be able to make Nationals again, I knew I needed DM Athletics to become faster and stronger. Donny knew excatly what I needed to be top 5 in the region. On the day of the meet, I ran my best 100 and 200 time ever, and longest jump ever.  I improved in the 100 by .3 seconds — almost a second off my 200 and a foot longer in my long jump. It wouldn’t have been possible without DM Athletics.
