Trust

Trust is a very important factor, that is sometimes over looked in sports and athletics.  The teams with the highest levels of trust are teams that are more successful than most.  When the trust level is high in any organization, things tend to get done faster and productivity rises.  On the other hand, when the level of trust is low, there often second guessing, organizational politics, and the performance of the team suffers.

The first thing you can do to improve the level of trust in your organization, is to follow through on promises to your team.  Nothing kills credibility faster than not doing what you said you would do.  When that kind of example is set, the players will only follow what the coaches are doing.  “Do what I say and not as I do,” does not work when leading a team or any people.  You must first display that you are trustworthy before your players or employees can trust you.

Another thing you can do to improve the level of trust on your team, is to put faith in the assistant coaches.  Empower them with your trust, and the faith that they can do their job.  When people are being watched and every move is being evaluated, they do not perform at their best.  If someone is given the freedom to make the right decisions within his duties, they have a greater chance of being successful.  Your assistant coaches will in turn trust you, and will feel great about working for you.  People need to feel great to produce great results.  Rarely does it work, that when someone feels stressed out, they are able to perform their best.

The next step to improving the level of trust on your team or organization, is to trust your players.  You need to trust that your players will do the right thing most of the time.  There are times when they do mess up, and you need to hold them accountable, but not trusting your players and critiquing there every decision will cost more in the long run than trusting them.  There are a couple of things that happen when you trust your players.  They will gain more confidence in themselves.  They will take ownership and be more responsible, and they will trust you more as a coach, and the fact that you have their best interest at heart.  The players themselves, will trust each other more.  Nothing slows down progress like a team or company that does not trust their leadership.

To have this level of trust in any organization is rare, because it is so hard to achieve.  In studying great teams (UCLA Basketball, San Francisco 49ers, LA Lakers, Boston Celtics, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Pistons, Seattle Seahawks, New York Yankees, etc.) when they went on a championship run, the level of trust was extremely high.  This is not the only component of their success, but it is a very important part that almost always gets overlooked.

We want to gain your trust in us, as the best possible means to providing results.  We do this by allowing you to cancel within thirty days of starting, while receiving a full refund.  That is how committed we are to our athletes, and how much we trust our program to produce the best results.  We know that when it comes to improving speed, agility, power and quickness, we will take your game to the next level.

Sincerely,

Donny Mateaki

Testimonial

After only two sessions with Donny, a first decent volleyball season in three years is actually on the horizon.

Donny’s sized me up and selected tests that quickly and clearly exposed the muscle imbalances at the hip causing my low back issues. It was not what the chiropractor said (different leg length), not what the PT said (range of motion), not what the massage therapist suggested (knotty QL).

The two hours I spent with Donny over the following two weeks were essential to get me on the path of improvement. It seemed like an easy regimen – foam roll squeezes, leg lifts and such; the only “easy” part is to do the exercises incorrectly. Donny made sure I understood the correct fundamental movement patterns, rather than just going through a check list on a sheet of paper.

Net result: In the 4 weeks after seeing Donny for the first time, my low back got from cramping after a single game of ping pong to going through three dozen cleans and twice as many burpees in a workout without feeling sore.

Whether you’re looking to rebound from “joke” to “decent”, or need that “good” to “great” boost – Donny can help you achieve it more wisely, effectively and comprehensively than many, many others.

Loud cheers! – Dimitar T.
