The question seems rather odd because breathing is one of the most basic things we do from infancy till death. Most people assume that they are breathing just fine, but in reality we all lose proper breathing habits by the time we are in our twenties. The reason is because we are not taught the most beneficial ways to breath and the impact it has on our bodies. A shortness of breath increases stress and can cause pain in back, hips, knees, shoulders and neck.
In this video we want to teach you a breathing exercise that can help you breath properly. This will help increase your recovery so you can be out of pain and ready to perform your best, whether it’s on the field or at work.
Action steps:
1. Perform the exercise
2. How do you feel?
3. Add this to the end of your daily exercise program to help you recover. If you have pain in your back hips, knees or hamstring, perform the exercise before your workout as well.
Were you able to fill up the balloon in 3 breaths? Some people have a hard time even getting air into a balloon at all. This means that the diaphragm and core are extremely weak. If this is the case for you, continue to practice daily. Weakness in these areas will cause problems in a variety of other areas in your body. We must remember that everything in the body is connected. When something is weak it will cause problems other areas.
You must strengthen your weaknesses in order for your body to function at its highest level!
Sincerely,
Donny Mateaki
