The Power of Action

 

There are several things that one can do to see accomplishment.  They can plan, maintain a positive attitude, refuse to give up, and arrive early.  However, the actual act of taking action is the key component which needs to enter the scene.    It may sound simple, but it is more commonly overlooked than we’d like to believe.  We can plan all day, and brainstorm idea after idea–yet without action, all we’ve got are ideas.  Can you recall a time when you’ve failed to take action on something important?  Perhaps a weight loss plan, a business goal, or becoming the best in your field?  Why do we do this to ourselves? Where is the disconnect?

 

In order to find an answer, a bit of contemplation is necessary.  For some, it’s difficult to step out of a comfort zone and do something they’ve never done before.  Others may be unfamiliar with the next steps which need to be taken, or may lack confidence.  Whatever the case may be, it’s important that we pinpoint the reason and begin dealing with it.  Once mental and emotional blockages are overcome, we can move on to taking massive action toward our goal.  According to Scott Eplin in his book “Next Level”, performance = potential – interference.  If we identify the interference, we can eliminate it.
